Inspired by mid-20th century artists like Hibari Misora, Chiemi Eri and the Tokyo Cuban Boysâwho blended min'yo with Latin and jazzâhe formed Minyo Crusaders in Fussa, western Tokyo, alongside vocalist Freddie Tsukamoto.
