Ultimate Black Sashiko Thread (Thick) 40m
Not all black is the same black.
This thread is dyed using the techniques of Kyoto Montsuki — the tradition behind Japan's most formal garment, the black montsuki kimono. Where standard dyeing stops at black, Kyoto Montsuki goes further. A secondary process known as deep black processing is applied after the initial dye, then the thread is dried in sunlight to draw the colour to its fullest depth. The result is a black that absorbs rather than reflects — dense, considered, final.
A thread made for work that takes its craft seriously.
Made in Japan.
